One day, Ethan and Fun Dog are walking home from school when they see a group of boys throwing rocks at a cat. Fun Dog barks at the boys and they run away. Ethan is grateful to Fun Dog for protecting him.
Ethan and Fun Dog continue to be best friends for many years. They go on many adventures together and help each other through difficult times.
